Omaha is similar to Texas Hold 'em Poker, except for two important differences:
Players receive four cards face down in the pocket instead of two.
Hands must consist of two pocket cards and three community cards
The Player that finishes with the strongest poker hand wins the pot.
Two to ten Players can play Omaha at one time.
Game Sequence:
The two Players to the left of the Dealer Button place the Small and Big blinds.
Players are dealt four pocket cards face-down.
First betting round.
Dealer turns over three community cards face-up, known as the Flop.
Second betting round.
Dealer turns over another community card, known as the Turn.
Third betting round.
Dealer turns over one final community card, known as the River Card.
Final betting round.
Players compare hands to determine the winner. The Player with the highest hand wins the pot. This is known as the Showdown.
Important: Hands must consist of two pocket cards and three community cards .
Because there are nine cards to choose from, winning hands tend to be high. If you are at a table with a lot of Players, for example, eight to ten, it is very common for someone to have the nuts , that is, the best possible hand. If you have a good hand, but not the best possible hand, be careful.
